Daimler is hiring 1100 to build trucks.

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) is adding a second shift at its Freightliner Truck Manufacturing Plant in Cleveland, North Carolina. This will result in the creation of 1,200 new jobs, including 100 at the nearby DTNA Components and Logistics Plant in Gastonia, North Carolina.

Hiring will begin next month and the new shift is expected to be fully operational by September.

This morning BMW announced it will invest nearly $900 Million and add 300 new jobs in 2012 in its South Carolina plant. This announcement came during ceremonies marking the 2,000,000th vehicle have leave the assembly line since the company began U.S. production in 1994.

Frank-Peter Arndt, BMW Group Board Member for Production, disclosed company’s plan to expand the X-model SUV family. The upcoming BMW X4 will added to the lines already produced at the Spartanburg plant
